D.C. Gomez
D.C. Gomez is an award-winning USA Today Bestselling Author who writes in multiple genres.
While she started her publishing journey writing Urban Fantasy and Children’s books, she expanded her books into women’s contemporary literature and non-fiction. Her non-fiction books include a collection of devotionals books, as well as a motivational one.
While publishing full time and managing her small business, D.C. proudly serves as an Army Civilian in Texarkana, Texas. A career she embarked on shortly after her enlistment in the U.S. Army ended. She served for four years, culminating her career as a Sergeant with the 101 st Field Support Battalion in the First Infantry Division. That included a year's deployment to Iraq at the
start of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
D.C. has an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from New York University in Film and Televisions.
In May 2007, D.C. was awarded a master degree in Science Administration from Central Michigan University.
In 2013 she was also awarded a second master degree in Science in Adult
Education from Texas A&M University- Texarkana.
A believer of life-learning and a self-proclaimed professional student, D.C. continues to look for ways to improved and grow. That journey led to her certification as a Meditation Instructor from the Chopra Center. It also motivated her to become a certified public speaker and coach from The John Maxwell Team. D.C. serves as a certified Sexual Assault Advocate for the
Department of Defense.
After years of searching for balance between all her different passions, D.C. found harmony in the organized chaos. By understanding and embracing the need for both a corporate career as well as a creative business, she has found the perfect mix of creativity and efficiency. This has allowed for true enjoyment in her life.
Tonya Nagle has been published since 2006 as Cara North. In addition to weathering many publishing storms, as a creative writer, she has taught English and creative writing at colleges and universities for over 14 years. She has been a part-time writing coach since 2019. While selective of projects, she has been an editor for multiple fiction authors since 2010.
Her experience also expands into podcasts, author workshops and running anthologies.
She works full-time in higher education as an instructional designer and occasionally as an adjunct faculty member. North is a USMC veteran.

Jamie's knowledge of the publishing world is further enhanced by her studies under Jeff Brown's cover design school, where she gained insights from industry leaders in both indie and traditional publishing. This experience honed her ability to dissect and utilize publishing tropes, enabling her to make unique yet marketable decisions throughout the publishing process. Her success is also evident in her crowdfunding achievements, having raised $50,000 on her first Kickstarter campaign for an unpublished book.
Jamie is known for creating both physical hooks and visual hooks through innovative formatting and art, adding an extra layer of engagement for her readers. She incorporates recipes and unique elements into her books, enhancing the reader experience. She also co-publishes T.A.L.E.S., a quarterly short story collection with D.C. Gomez, providing a platform for authors to publish for free while sharing royalties equally.
Demonstrating her commitment to supporting fellow authors, Jamie founded Operation Author, an initiative that helped 22 authors indie publish their works completely free of charge. This project showcased her ability to rally industry professionals and create collaborative opportunities within the publishing community.
Jamie's approach to authorship goes beyond traditional methods. Her savvy use of social media for brand building and book marketing, coupled with her knack for sharing comparable titles alongside her own works, demonstrates her understanding of modern publishing dynamics.
As a full-time author, Jamie manages her full-time author career while balancing family responsibilities, including caring for her young daughter and disabled family members. She resides in the Charlotte, North Carolina suburbs, in a converted two-story shop that serves as both her home and creative space with her misunderstood golden retriever husband and daughter.
